May 4. The venue and time of  the two-part “Love Where you Lake Event” at Blythe Landing Saturday have been changed due to the expected inclement weather

—The 9:30am meeting with Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation and Cornelius Lake Patrol has been moved from Blythe Landing to Fire Station No. 1 on S. Main. Officials will discuss new policies for rental boat companies that use county-owned boat ramps.

—The community-wide event at 11 am has been moved to 10 am May 13, also at Blythe Landing.

Free Hotdogs and chips

Safety and lake related vendors

Fun games and demos

Boat rides

Drive through vessel safety inspection station

In the wake of drownings on Lake Norman last year, Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation and Cornelius Lake Patrol are stepping up safety efforts, especially at public boat ramps in Cornelius.
