Buy a brick campaign coming in September

Aug. 5. The public phase of fundraising for the Cain Center for the Arts begins in September, with a buy-a-brick campaign ($250, $500 and $1,000).

So far, the non-profit arts center ​is at $17 million in donatio​ns, well on its way toward​ a campaign goal of $25 million.​ Demolition of the existing buildings just west of the Police Station will take place sometime in September.

The construction timeline for the project is estimated to be between 16 and 18 months, with work beginning in 2021.

Here’s how the project breaks down, financially speaking:

Equipment & Furnishings $2,500,000
Professional Services $2,000,000
Administrative Costs $600,000
Land Purchase $1,500,000

Total Cost: $25 million
