Feb. 6. By Dave Vieser. The game plan is similar to last year, but the venue is quite different. The Cornelius Town Board will conduct a special meeting to discuss planning for the 2024 fiscal year budget at the Cain Center for the Arts. Last year’s session was held at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.

The meeting, which will run from 9:30 am to 5 pm, will be open to the public, and will also be live streamed on the town website.
If the plan follows last year’s schedule, a two-day budget retreat will also be held in March.
The meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn City Center in Charlotte, not at the Graylyn Estate Hotel & Conference Center in Winston-Salem.
New county tax assessments are expected to be released in March. The town budget is based on revenue from tax assessments.
