March 4. If you’re pondering the value of a college education in the 21st century, a Davidson College Zoom lecture on the evening of March 17 will be helpful, and it’s open to the public.
Some of the problems in US higher education that existed before the pandemic have worsened over the past year.
Dr. Christina H. Paxson, president of Brown University and professor of economics and public policy, will be speaking on “Accessibility, Affordability and Innovation: Higher Education in a Post-COVID World.”
She will address challenges that include limited access and affordability for students whose high-school educations have been disrupted; colleges and universities whose financial positions have gone from difficult to dire; and pressures on state budgets that threaten future funding for public higher education.
The virtual webinar will run from 7 pm to 8 pm March 17. Click here to register.
