July 21. The Big Day at the Lake picnic is a massive undertaking, with 400 to 500 attendees, games, inflatables and a live dee-jay. They’ll be well-fed:

4 pans Mac n Cheese (On the Nines)

Thousands of chicken tenders (Tenders)

40 lbs Vegan BBQ (Barvecue)

10 watermelons (Old Store Produce)

25 lbs of tomatoes (Old Store Produce)

5 tubs of ice cream (Brusters in Cornelius)

There are also more than 65 volunteers, doing everything from set-up, grilling and game assistance to welcome, water deliver and break-down/clean-up. (A handful of volunteer slots are open.)
