Dec. 5 Rain and chilly weather have delayed the start of repaving a number of roads on the west side of Cornelius until Monday, Dec. 8—if the weather is good. Ferebee Corp. will start with, in order, John Connor Road, Green Dolphin, Staysail Court, Cove View and Peninsula Cove.

There are no plans to repave Jetton Road this winter, because bids came in too high.

The town has received a total of $500,000 from the state legislature to repave Jetton, but the money must be used by June, “or we are toast,” one elected official said.

Other roads that Charlotte-based Ferebee will repave now, in order, are: Greenburn, Town Harbour, Baywatch Ct., Flying Jib, Mountain View, Delftmere, Lake Point Lane, Norman Shores, Northport and Yachtman Drive.
