Sept. 24. A Cornelius tradition for decades—the Bethel Presbyterian Church BBQ—runs through dinner time tonight at the historic church on Bethel Church Road. The BBQ is delicious and the lines move fast. A BBQ plate is $9, with slaw, beans, and plenty of conversation with old-timers and new-timers.
“Every penny that we profit goes outside of us,” says Rev. Dr. Bill Cain. Some $60,000 was raised last year for Barium Springs Home for Children/Children’s Hope Alliance.
There is also a large silent auction as well as a bake sale and handmade quilt sale.
