June 13. By Dave Vieser. The popular Band of Oz apparently won’t be rescheduled for another Concert on the Green after they were rained out Sunday.

A band of rain accompanied by lightning around 3 pm Sunday was the culprit..

“The sponsors made the decision to cancel Sundays concert due to the inclement weather” said Davidson spokesperson Jessica Eggimann. “Unfortunately, due to the band’s schedule, the concert will not be rescheduled.”

Band of Oz, which can trace its roots back to the 1960s, is a popular group Lake Norman, providing a mix of popular music with beach music.

The decision to cancel appears to have been wise, as the same storm system which disrupted the concert was responsible for a lightning strike in Salisbury, causing significant damage to the Power Cross Ministries Church.

Envision, an R&B group, will be performing Saturday June 24.
