Sept. 22. The cyclist involved in the motor vehicle accident that partially closed the intersection of Jetton and West Catawba Tuesday afternoon has been identified by police as Trevor Toothman, a 27-year-old Cornelius resident.

He was taken to CMC Main in Charlotte. Friends said he was recovering well after what eyewitnesses reported a startling collision with a pick-up truck.

Police said the driver of the motor vehicle will not be charged.

There were more than eight emergency vehicles on the scene with officers directing Jetton traffic away from the intersection, which was busy with late afternoon traffic.
