Oct. 25. Father John Putnam from St. Mark Roman Catholic Church will consecrate a section in Mt. Zion Community Cemetery to open up burial spaces for the Catholic community. A crucifix will be placed in the middle of the Catholic section which will include 275 graves, according to John Kepner, owner/president of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville.

The consecration ceremony takes place at 11 am on Nov. 1.

Northlake Memorial Gardens in Huntersville, is the only other cemetery in North Meck that has a dedicated section.
