Rural Hill Amazing Maize Maze
Weekends and weekday adventures. Get lost in seven acres of corn; perfect for socially-distanced, outdoor, family friendly fun. The Amazing Maize Maze is one of the largest corn mazes in the Southeast. A mask is required to enter the maze. Advance ticket purchase required. Weekend tickets, $9-$17. Weekday tickets, $9-$12. Neighbor Meet Neighbor!
6-9 pm. A LKN neighbor meet event with a toy drive for Little Smiles, which needs Legos, toys, blankets and baby items, which will be donated to hospitals, hospice facilities, shelters and temporary homes. 6-8 pm. Wagon Load a Trouble. September is Hunger Action Month. Each Friday in September, Birkdale Village will be collecting donations from in effort to end hunger in our community. If you bring five items at once, you will receive a special swag item. Please review the list of items below and bring them with you when you come to attend the concerts. Suggested donation items: Spaghetti, ravioli, chili, canned fish or meat, peanut butter, canned low sodium soups or stews, canned or dry beans, canned fruits in juice, canned low sodium vegetables.
6-8 pm. Opening night reception. This juried show showcases both functional and sculptural works by local artists that incorporate clay. Exhibit runs through Nov. 6. Gallery hours 10 am-4pm Monday – Friday. Cornelius Arts Center gallery, 21445 Catawba Ave.

Music at the Mill
8-9:30 pm. Tony Lucca is a Nashville-based singer/songwriter whose catalog of music runs the gamut from soul-infused pop to tear-jerker folk balladry. Includes a complimentary pre-show reception, art exhibit, and intimate “living-room style” concert. Tickets are $45. Cain Center for the Arts’ Cornelius Arts Center, 19725 Oak St. Suite 1.
5-8 pm. Free, town-sponsored event, an evening filled with Christian entertainment including local and national professional artists, inspirational vendors, food and more at Smithville Park.
11 am – 10 pm. Mountain Top Polka Band. This is a ticketed event. Food will be available. This is a 21 and older event. No dogs allowed. Lost Worlds Brewing, 19700-D One Norman Blvd.
Safety Saturday at Birkdale Village
10 am – noon. Get a look at special safety vehicles and learn about ways to keep your community safer. Stroll along Birkdale Commons Parkway while listening to a live DJ and check out the safety trucks, cars and boats parked along the street. Guests will also get the chance to learn more about the Lake Norman Teen Council. The Second Harvest donation bin will also be available for donations of spaghetti, canned ravioli, chili, canned fish or meat, peanut butter, canned low sodium soups or stews, canned or dry beans, canned fruits in juice, canned low sodium vegetables.
Family Fun Day at Rescue Ranch
10 am – 4 pm. Families can enjoy the barnyard animal ambassadors, animal ambassador presentations, outdoor games, mini train rides, local vendors, food trucks and fall-themed family portrait sessions. Guests will have access to the Ranch’s nature trails and the 10,000-square-foot inclusive playground. Admission is $5 per person with children 1 and younger free. Proceeds benefit the nonprofit animal welfare organization that promotes respect for all animals through education; is committed to agricultural, environmental and wildlife conservation; and facilitates rehabilitation, rescue, and responsible pet ownership in order to enhance the human-animal bond.
