Joseph Charles Summa, 61

SUMMA

Joseph Charles Summa, 61, of Huntersville, NC passed away unexpectedly March 7, 2017 at Novant Health

Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, NC.  Joe was born June 18, 1955 in Mineola, NY to Robert George Summa, Sr., and Gloria Mason Summa.  He was a National Account Manager for Fire and Life Safety America, after retiring with 27 years from Carrier Corporation.

Joe is survived by his wife of 35 years, Debby and his sons Chris Woodard (Jen) of Mebane NC and Joe Summa (Jessica) of Denver NC, his grandchildren; Cameron

and Benjamin Woodard, and McRae Summa, and his grandpuppy Tucker, and many other dear family members.

Joe grew up in Florida attending high school in Jacksonville, graduated college from the University of Florida in Gainesville, and served in the United States Air Force.

Joe enjoyed being surrounded by his family and friends, golfing, football, family vacations, and his antique home decor business.  Joe had quite the knack of collecting people, adopting everyone he knew as part of his family and the impact he had on countless others will never be forgotten.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC with Rev. Rick Felts officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
