American Legion Post 86 hosts Unserviceable Flag Ceremony

Feb. 6. American Legion Post 86 in Cornelius is hosting an Unserviceable Flags Ceremony on Thursday, March 5. The ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion Building (21215 Legion St., Cornelius). Unserviceable flags are defined as those that “are no longer proper for display due to its condition including tears, rips, stains, fading or other damage.” The ceremony is a dignified and solemn occasion for the disposal of unserviceable American flags.
