May 16. Cornelius Mayor Pro Tem Woody Washam invites Cornelius residents to a “Listening Circle” event at 4 p.m. May 19 at the Bailey’s Glen clubhouse. The topic is “Cornelius: Planning for the Next Five Years.” Washam will answer questions and refreshments will be served.

It’s misleading to headline “Mayor will answer questions” when it is not the Cornelius mayor who will be answering the questions. A mayor-pro-tem still is a council member. He may substitute in the mayor’s absence.
