Women’s Networking Group Hosts Fundraising Event To Help Build State of the Art Animal Center
The East Lake Norman Women’s Networking Group is hosting a fundraiser to benefit the Friends of the Animals capital campaign for a pet education and adoption center in Mooresville. “For the Love of the Animals” is Thursday, April 14 at the Pearl Wedding and Event Center in Cornelius. The event begins at 6:30 pm and includes dinner, appetizers, cash bar, silent auction, animal artist demonstrations and a puppy kissing booth.
This is the first annual fundraiser of the East LKN Women’s Networking group.
A Pet Education and Adoption Center will enable Friends of the Animals to fulfill its mission to promote responsible pet ownership, provide low‐cost spay/neuter services and promote adoption of homeless pets. The planned 11,500‐square‐foot facility will house boarding space for adoptable dogs and cats, a medical clinic and education center. Low cost spay/neuter services will be phased in after the center is open as well as educational programming for students.
The center will be off I‐77 between Exit 31 and Exit 33.
“We will be poised to serve the entire Lake Norman area, and are delighted by the beautiful 2.6 acres on Templeton Road that has the feel of a sanctuary,” says Friends of the Animals Executive Director Patrice Reynolds, who is also a member of the networking group.
Indeed the center will serve Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, Mooresville and Statesville as well as many of the surrounding communities.
Tickets to the event, which begins at 6:30 pm, are $50 per person and include dinner, appetizers, music, cash bar, artist demonstrations and silent auction.
Sponsorship opportunities are available. Tickets can be purchased online through March 31, at www.FriendsoftheAnimals.net
