Jan. 8. There’s an effort to put Humpty Dumpty together again after he was stolen from an outdoor art installation in front of Cornelius Elementary School in 2023.
Humpty sat atop a brick wall in an open book with the nursery rhyme engraved on the left side and a word search on the right side, that is, until the cast aluminum and steel sculpture was stolen.
Cornelius residents Chad Huck and Stewart Barbee decided to do something about it. Greensboro sculptor Eric Isbanioly, who won the People’s Choice Award for the sculpture in 2017, said he would replace Humpty Dumpty for $2,500.
As of this morning, $1,850 has been raised toward a goal of $2,500 goal.

All money raised will be used for this project and whatever money is leftover, will be used for other art exhibits around town as directed by the Town of Cornelius staff.
THIS TIME, PERMANENTLY mount/attach Humpty so he’s theft-free from being stolen. Learn from past mistake in 2025
