You can pay respects to Jimmy Carter at Habitat ReStore this week

Jan. 5. President Joe Biden declared Jan. 9 a national day of mourning, issued an executive order closing all executive departments and agencies of the federal government that day, and ordered US flags to fly at half-staff for 30 days.

Habitat Charlotte Region is inviting the public to pay tribute to President Carter by signing a door frame with their name or personal message at one of the seven ReStores in the area, including ReStore on N. Main St. in Cornelius. The frames will be available for signing for one week:

Cornelius ReStore

Habitat for Humanity will be celebrating President Carter’s life of service to others as he is laid to rest this week. The official state funeral will take place on Jan. 9 in Washington, D.C., following services and ceremonies to honor the 39th President.
