Season overview

The Spring 2025 season opens with celebrated bluegrass icons, The Gibson Brothers, followed by the soulful sound of North Carolina’s own Charly Lowry, whose music bridges Americana and indigenous storytelling. The season continues with a dynamic series of live music performances, including indie rock staples Carbon Leaf, rising Americana stars Damn Tall Buildings, dynamic Celtic Rock group Tartan Terrors, the innovative AJ Ghent & His Singing Guitar, emerging Country Pop artist Canaan Cox, local favorite Shelley Ruffin, and the jazz stylings of the Ben Rosenblum Trio. Blues fans can look forward to the renowned guitarist Ana Popovic, and rock enthusiasts will enjoy hit-makers like Sister Hazel and the interactive Max Weinberg’s Jukebox, where the audience chooses the set list.

Music, comedy

Tribute bands bring the sounds of music legends to life with The Stranger: Billy Joel Tribute, Kings of Queen, The Brit Pack, So Good: The Neil Diamond Experience, Petty Rewind, and two nights of crowd-favorite Yacht Rock from The Docksiders, each delivering authentic renditions of classic songs that promise memorable sing-along moments. Audiences will also enjoy stand-up comedy from acclaimed comedians, including William Lee Martin and Killer Beaz, known for their family-friendly humor, and Heather Land, whose viral “I Ain’t Doin’ It” comedy sketches have made her a national favorite. Theater enthusiasts can look forward to Broadway-themed performances, such as Broadway in Love, featuring Broadway stars Libby Servais and Stephan Stubbins, and Soul of Broadway with Terron Brooks. Contemporary Dance returns to Cain Center with a highly acclaimed performance from Jon Lehrer Dance Company.

Family-friendly

Family-friendly events add even more excitement, from the high-energy antics of Buckets N Boards to the delightful canine performances in Puppy Pals. Younger audiences will be thrilled by Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus – The Musical! and the circus spectacle Solstice, which features acrobatic feats and magical storytelling. The return of Magician Mike Super will be sure to wow audiences of all ages!

Local Talent 

In addition to several music performances from North Carolina artists, Cain Center proudly presents the Jazz Legacy Project featuring Billie Holiday: God Bless the Child in celebration of Black History Month. Featuring renowned vocalist Maria Howell, this immersive tribute celebrates the life and legacy of Billie Holiday, one of America’s most influential jazz vocalists, whose work broke barriers and paved the way for future generations.  In partnership with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, the season will also include a highly anticipated classical performance, offering the community another chance to experience the grandeur of live orchestral music from Charlotte’s own symphony.
