Oct. 4. Mooresville-based Lowe’s has received a Compassionate Business Award from PETA in recognition of their donation of fencing materials to unchain dogs that are kept tethered outside.
“With this charitable assistance from Lowe’s, PETA will be able to provide relief to dogs who would otherwise be forced to spend their entire lives languishing in isolation at the end of a chain,” says PETA Senior Vice President Daphna Nachminovitch.
Dogs can suffer from frostbite, heat exhaustion and dehydration when chained outside. They may have nowhere to go to escape a flood.
