Between buses, students driving to and from school and carpooling, not to mention a variety of residential developments including Bailey’s Glen, Bailey is a real challenge on school days.

The town has hired consulting firm Kimley Horn to develop improvement proposals.

“Our staff has discussed draft recommendations from them,” said Wayne Herron, deputy town manager. “Many of them required coordination and approval by NCDOT and CMS, and we are now awaiting responses from both before presenting any findings to the Town Board and then the public.”

Herron said he anticipates findings will be announced in September.
