Joe Gransden’s 16-piece band is coming
June 14. Cain Center for the Arts has unveileded its Fall 2024 lineup with a variety of performances ranging from comedy and tribute bands to classical music and theatrical performances. The Cain also announced a partnership with Davidson Community Players which begins a two-year residency in July.
Kicking off the season is comedian Tom Cotter on Sept. 7, followed by the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra performing classical favorites on Sept. 13. To the Limit, the Ultimate Eagles Experience, takes the stage on Sept. 14 followed by Riders in the Sky Sept. 20. The Cain Center Singer-Songwriter Showcase, featuring local talent, is set for Sept. 21.

Ben Sollee Trio’s blend of folk/singer-songwriter and cello is Oct. 4, magician Mike Super performs Oct. 5, and The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra plays Oct. 10. The Reduced Shakespeare Company presents their comedic “Complete History of America (abridged)” on Oct. 11 and 12, followed by singer-songwriter Martin Sexton’s Abbey Road Show doing the best of The Beatles on Oct. 18. Folk/rock family duo Trout Fishing in America performs Oct. 19. Living legend Jim Messina, best-known for his work with Loggins & Messina, Poco, and Buffalo Springfield, brings folk and country rock to the Cain Oct. 25.

Comedian Tammy Pescatelli performs on Nov. 1 in a show that’s sure to make you roar with laughter. Deana Carter’s country tunes and “Strawberry Wine” fill the hall on Nov. 7, followed by bluegrass from John Jorgenson Bluegrass Band on Nov. 8. Original members of Heart take the stage with Heart by Heart on Nov. 9. Blues musician Larry McCray performs Nov. 23, paving the way for more Blues here at Cain Center for the Arts.
The holidays
Joe Gransden’s Little Big Band brings a holiday jazz show on November 29. December features Pam Tillis Acoustic Trio’s Country Christmas on December 19, Mark & Maggie O’Connor’s An Appalachian Christmas on December 20, and a heartwarming performance of “Frosty” from our childhood favorite classic tale Frosty the Snowman on December 21. There’s a holiday program for everyone – no matter your tastes!
The Partnership: Davidson Community Players & Cain Center for the Arts
Cain Center for the Arts is thrilled to also announce a new partnership with local theater powerhouse Davidson Community Players. Beginning this July, Davidson Community Players (DCP) will begin a 2-year resident company partnership with Cain Center for the Arts. The hallmark feature of the residency will be eight total productions over 2 years. These will be a mix of youth and adult shows, with a possibility of adding special events a la carte.
