April 10. Davidson’s Board of Commissioners has adopted the town’s first Climate Action Plan, moving the community toward carbon neutrality.
The town partnered with Blue Strike Environmental to create the plan which is intended to serve as a guide to drive emissions reductions and sustainability efforts.
Going a step farther, the CAP sets a community-wide carbon neutrality goal by 2050. The CAP presents goals, strategies, and actions to achieve these carbon neutrality goals. Actions will both mitigate climate impacts and increase community resilience in the face of potential climate changes.
The town board adopted the plan at its meeting April 9.
