Feb. 8. Charlotte came in at No. 30 among most Cupid-worthy US cities—ahead of such love nests as Jersey City, NJ and Toledo, OH—in a study from WalletHub.

Ever the romantic types, they looked at the most cost-effective cities for celebrating Valentine’s Day next week across such metrics as florists per capita to the cost of a three-course dinner for two.

San Francisco, Seattle and San Diego came in at Nos. 1, 2 and 3, respectively.

Restaurateur Jon Dressler says he loves Valentine’s day coming mid-week.

“Guests will use the wrap-around holiday of Wednesday to dine starting this Saturday and ending next Saturday,” he says.

Fin & Fino update

Fin & Fino, his new restaurant in Birkdale, will open Feb. 28. This comes after a six-month make-over of the former Dressler’s space in the heart of Birkdale Village.
