[Letter to the Editor] July 5. A big thank you to Davidson Police Chief Kim Davidson for his response to the recent use of the n-word in local vandalism. The chief, and the officers who serve with him, showed great professionalism in responding to this angry, senseless, awful act. Both the police and town council members are communicating clearly that most people in this area have no use for that word which should not be used against any human being. As a board member with Unity In Community and a local Unitarian Universalist minister, my heart is broken as I try to imagine what could motivate such hatred.
