Davidson Officer Cluck

May 18.  A vigilant chicken has taken up residence in the parking lot of the Davidson Police Department.

“Officer Cluck” has been seen patrolling the lot, watching for potential criminals, and occasionally chasing officers.

The department introduced Officer Cluck in the Community Connections newsletter.

Good peep

“He’s a great addition to the department and a good friend,” said one officer who asked to remain anonymous. “He’s always on the lookout for trouble and not afraid to chase it away. Sometimes he chases me away, but I don’t take it personally.”

In addition to his security guard duties, Cluck enjoys pecking at the ground for food and taking naps in the sun.
