Cornelius resident Tommy Walker had more than 50 years experience in appliance repair and operated Tommy’s Appliance Service until retiring a few years ago. Here’s some no-strings advice.
Dryers are like us in a way, we have to inhale and exhale. If either is compromised it affects dryer performance and drying time. Roof-top vents should be cleaned out every 2-3 years.
Over-use of static sheets will produce sticky substances to form on the lint screen, which should be cleaned with a brush. I prefer the timed cycle and avoid dryer balls and pellets.
Balls remove the painted finish and the pellets also contain sticky substance that can contribute to clogs.
Thanks and happy laundry duties, Tommy
