Oct. 27. Officer E. Stevenson has been selected the Cornelius Police Department Employee of the Quarter. He took the initiative to gather and donate much-needed school supplies to less fortunate children in the Cornelius Village Apartments. Through his own community efforts, he recognized the need, took the time and garnered support from his fellow officers. He also helped deliver the school supplies directly to the Cornelius Village Apartments, allowing the children to be prepared for their first day of school. “His actions are an example of his commitment to Community Policing and countless unseen actions behind the scenes to make an impact on the lives of the children within this community,” the police said in a prepared statement.
