Calling all rising kindergarteners and their caregivers

Aug. 25. Discovery Place Kids – Huntersville is hosting a free community event Friday, Aug. 26, where rising kindergarteners will  learn tools for kindergarten readiness.

The event is open to the public and will take place outside on the lawn as well as inside the museum. Kindergarten teachers from the Huntersville schools attend the event so your child may meet their teacher.

Children will:

  • Learn to carry a lunch tray
  • Practice using scissors
  • Get ready to read with literacy games and story time
  • Explore, test and try new skills throughout the Museum

The event will be held 4-8 pm Friday, Aug. 26, at  Discovery Place Kids – Huntersville, 105 Gilead Rd., Huntersville.

Participating community partners include CMS School District, Town of Huntersville, Charlotte Checkers, Huntersville Police Department, Girl Scouts, Speech Therapy Zone, Huntersville Smiles and more.
