Aug. 13. Cornelius Police Department have arrested Rymyr Davaughn Quarles, 22, for the murder of Brandon David Hedrick who was killed in the toll lanes of I-77 on Aug. 12. Hedrick, 34, was found slumped over the wheel of his car around 6:10 am Thursday.

According to Mecklenburg County Sheriff office, Quarles has been arrested a half dozen times over the last three years.

Police did not release a motive or any other information. Yesterday police asked for the public’s help to find a white van in connection with the case.

The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the case.
