CATHEY

MaKeeby Long Cathey, 93 of Huntersville died July 7, 2015 at Novant Huntersville. She was born on April 12, 1922 in Union County to the late Robert and Alice Long.

Survivors include her husband Marvin Hipp Cathey; son, Roger Cathey and wife Sylvia of Blowing Rock; daughters, Donna Sadler of Sherrills Ford and Candy Kidd and husband Chris of Charlotte; 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son-in-law Ronnie.

She was known for her beautiful smile, total devotion to family and being a loving, steadfast wife and mother. Her love for cooking and sharing that gift was a joy to all who knew her. Her strong faith, unconditional love, and so much more are how she will be remembered.

Memorials may be made to Hopewell Presbyterian Church, 10500 Beatties Ford Rd. Huntersville, NC 28078.

The service to celebrate her life will be held at 3PM Sunday, July 12 at Hopewell Presbyterian Church with Rev. Alan Purtill officiating. A visitation will follow in the family life center.
