The 39 Steps
Presented by the Davidson Community Players at Armour Street Theatre, 307 Armour St., Davidson. Tickets are $15-$20. Email boxoffice@davidsoncommunityplayers.org or call 704-892-7953. A man with a boring life meets a woman with a thick accent who says she’s a spy. When he takes her home, she is murdered. Soon, a mysterious organization called “The 39 Steps” is hot on the man’s trail in a nationwide manhunt that climaxes in a death-defying finale. The best of Hitchcock with a handful of actors.
6:30 pm. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights through September, US National Whitewater Center, Charlotte. Free ($6 to park). Enjoy live rock, Americana, bluegrass, folk, and funk.
July 16
Stormin’ Norman Band benefit for Big Day at the Lake
7-10 pm concert, by boat only. Waterfront concert on Lake Norman in the cove east of Eastpoint Drive, Cornelius Come join the band for your favorite classic rock, country, 80’s/90’s., by boat only. No parking for cars. Click here to donate to Big Day at the Lake.
6-8 pm. Shelley Ruffin. The Grove at Birkdale Village, Huntersville. Bring your own lawn chairs and blankets to sit on. A bar will be onsite in the designated area provided by Red Rocks Cafe.

July 17
2021 Summer Burns Night
6-10 pm. A traditional Scottish Supper that celebrates the very first Burns Night, which was held July 21st, 1801 in honor of Robert Burns. Space for this premier event at Rural Hill is limited, and tickets must be purchased in advance. A silent auction will be held throughout the evening and there will be a cash bar with beer, wine and Scotch whisky.
8-10 pm at Robbins Park, 17500 W Catawba Ave. Hike times will generally last about one and a half to two hours, with multiple stops along the way to learn about some of the wildlife, trees and plants we may encounter, courtesy of Lake Norman Wildlife Conservationists. No pets or strollers. Children younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
9 am -noon in downtown Davidson. This year’s 36 vendors include: fruits and vegetables, meat and dairy, freshly baked breads and artisanal baked goods, prepared foods, speciality culinary items, beverages, and health and beauty products.
