May 25. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services today reported 525 new cases of the coronavirus statewide, a number even lower than yesterday. Meanwhile, total deaths attributable to COVID-19 surpassed 13,000, an increase of 15 from yesterday.

Statewide, there were 699 people hospitalized, as per today’s NCDHHS report.

Testing

The statewide positive test rate was at 4.2 percent percent in today’s report; Mecklenburg County was also 3.7 percent. Trending down from 5 percent is the goal, according to NDHHS.

Vaccinations

Statewide, 48.1 percent of adults are fully vaccinated.

Davidson: 1 new cases, 1,685 cumulative; 15 deaths total.
