Flags at state facilities are at half-staff in honor of three people:

—Fort Bragg Spc. Abigail Jenks who passed away on April 19 during a training exercise. She was part of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division. Spc. Jenks will be interred May 2.

—NWatauga County Sheriffs, Sgt. Chris Ward and K-9 Deputy Logan Fox. They died in the line of duty in Boone on Wednesday. Sgt. Ward began his law enforcement career in 2013 and K-9 Deputy Fox served at the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office for two years.
