Oct. 15. The 76th  Annual Mooresville Christmas Parade for this year has been postponed until 2021, organizers say. 

The Mooresville Christmas Parade organizers notified the town on Monday, October 12, of the plan, said Kim Sellers, public information officer for Mooresville.

The parade, traditionally held the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, features fantastic floats, marching bands, dance and tumbling troupes,  vintage and modern modes of transport.

“After talking with other cities that have decided to postpone and others that have gone virtual, I think it is in our best interest to postpone the parade till 2021,” said Ryan Pegarsch, who heads the parade organizing effort.

“I do not see any advantage to the virtual parade and I do not and this committee does not have the time or manpower or expertise to do a virtual parade,” Pegarsch told the town in his email.
