Oct. 2. Two favorite holiday traditions will be held this year, although exactly what they will look like and how the Elves will pull off the activities in a pandemic safe way are still being worked out.

The 38th Annual North Mecklenburg Parade will be virtual  Saturday, December 5,  at 1 p.m., according to planners. The  rules, regulations and all other parade details will be posted next Wednesday, October 7, the Towns of Davidson & Cornelius Parade Committee promises.

And the Town of Davidson separately posted that Christmas in Davidson will be held. “Coming soon you will hear more about the new ways for you and your family to safely enjoy this traditional holiday experience,”  the announcement reads.

Parade registration will open Friday, October 9. Registration is first-come, first-served and organizers are limiting the number of entries to allow for “an enjoyable viewing experience.” 

Deadline to submit registration will be Friday, November 6 (or when full).  No late submissions will be taken. 

“While this year’s parade will not be held live on Town of Davidson and Cornelius streets, with your help we can guarantee it will be an exciting event which will entertain and help our community create new memories and connect with their local organizations and businesses safely, at home,” the organizers said in their online announcement.
