Sept. 4. The Cornelius Police Department, Truliant Federal Credit Union and Shred-It will host a Community Document Shredding Event in the parking lot of Cornelius Town Hall, 21445 Catawba Ave., 9 am to noon Saturday Sept. 26. 

The document shredding event is free to the community. If there is heavy volume, Truliant & Shred-it may end the event prior to noon because of  truck capacity, or for equipment failure, bad weather or any unforeseen event. 

You  should remain in your car when arriving to the event. Officers will be out assisting with directions.

There will be a 4-box maximum per resident or business. Boxes are to not exceed a normal file box size. The public is encouraged to bring documents such as obsolete tax documents, financial statements, canceled checks, insurance documents, business records or any records that they want safely destroyed. There is no need to remove clips, staples, or binders from these documents.
