April 28. The Peninsula Community Foundation Emergency Relief Fund is accepting contributions to help provide help to families in need during the pandemic. So far, the 501c3 has distributed funding to:
—Bags of Hope: Provides free food to school children who experience limited food availability.
—Neighborhood CARE Center. Provides food to the families in need in the Cornelius Smithville area community.
—Feeding the Frontlines: Provides food for the health care workers at the Atrium Surgery Center & Novant Hospital in Huntersville.
—Caterpillar Ministries: Provides critical help to the Huntington Green neighborhood in Huntersville.
—Safe Alliance: Provides critical crisis services to those impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse.
