Read Charlotte, a community-wide initiative uniting parents, educators and community partners to improve children’s literacy from birth through third grade, needs volunteers to become reading tutors at Cornelius Elementary. Tutoring hours are 9 to 10 am one day a week. Volunteers must complete a CMS background check and attend a 3-1/2 hour training session. This training session will be held Saturday, Jan. 25, from 10 am to 1:30 pm at First Baptist Church of Cornelius.
