Three magical holiday evenings in downtown Davidson, complete with wonderful costumed carolers, horse-drawn carriages, food, great shopping and a true holiday ambiance, begin tonight at 6 pm. Christmas in Davidson runs Dec. 5-7 6-9 pm.
Thursday night is always the least busy; Friday and Saturday you’ll see literally thousands of people. The Live Nativity Scene near the Davidson United Methodist Church is stunning, so is the gospel music at Raeford’s Barber Shop, 206 S. Main.
This community-gathering event is a lovely way for friends, family and neighbors to come together and celebrate the season. All are welcome, regardless of religion, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, gender identity or faith.
There will be dozens of beautiful and creative trees as well, thanks to the Rotary Club of Davidson.
Each tree represents a worthy non-profit, sponsored by a local business. Every dollar in “votes” goes directly to the non-profit represented. You can come by the Giving Tree Village any evening, or vote/donate online at http://www.givingtreevillage.com/ and click on the GIVING TREE SHOP 2019 tab to support any of the 62 non-profit organizations. Online donations will be open through Saturday, Dec. 7.
Top vote getters will be gifted with bonus funds from the Rotary Club of Davidson. Tis the season!
