TheDavidson Community Players will hold open auditions for a production of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” on the Village Green. Rehearsals  for the play, considered one of the playwright’s most magical, will begin the week of April 14. It has roles for actors of all ages and experience level. The performance will run May 16, 17 and 18 outside on the Village Green in downtown Davidson.

Auditions will be held on April 8 and 9 at 7 p.m. at Armour Street Theatre, at 307 Armour St. in Davidson. Those auditioning should bring a recent picture, a list of theatrical experience and conflicts for April-May.

There are parts for 21 actors ages 14 and older, plus children may be considered for additional roles of fairies and dancers. The director will consider non-gender specific casting. All ethnicities are welcome.

Shakespeare on the Green is a partnership between The Town of Davidson and Davidson Community Players. Our mission is to produce Shakespeare in a manner that is open to all members of the Davidson and Lake Norman community.  All performances will be presented free of charge on the Village Green.
