Historic Latta Plantation will present A Victorian Christmas this weekend featuring Victorian decorations, Christmas crafts, cooking demonstrations, free samples of Mrs. Latta’s 19th-century gingercake recipe and other delicious food. A special presentation by Dontavius Williams and Rhianna Green on “Christmas in the Quarters” will address the way the enslaved community celebrated Christmas during the Victorian period. On Saturday evening, come help Light Up Cornelius at our town’s annual tree lighting. And Saturday is the sixth annual AmeriCarna LIVE car show at Ingersoll Rand in Davidson.

Illustrator Leigh Ann Carter will sign copies of her book, “Look, See the Bird.” Free with regular admission. Carter will also offer an art lesson for children. 10 a.m.-noon at the Carolina Raptor Center in Huntersville.

Ray Evernham’s sixth annual AmeriCarna LIVE car show will support the IGNITE Community Center for young adults with high-functioning autism or Asperger’s Syndrome. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Ingersoll Rand in Davidson.
