Who’s the best canine kisser in Cornelius? Find out Saturday at the All American Dog Show at Robbins Park. Contests include Best Kisser, Best Dressed, Most Ear-Resistible Ears, Cutest Puppy and more. The towns of Cornelius and Davidson have opened registration for youth basketball exclusively to town residents through Oct. 7. After that, registration will be open to anyone. The program is for boys and girls ages 5-18.
Thursday, Oct. 4
Fundraiser for the Pounding for Parker Foundation to help raise awareness of pediatric brain cancer and improve the quality of life for survivors. Event features a live and silent auction, wine pull, raffles, chef-prepared food stations, live music. 7 p.m. at Sweet Magnolia Estate in Cornelius.
A successful Broadway writer is struggling to overcome a dry spell when he receives a potential hit script from a student in this suspense-filled drama. Sept. 27-Oct. 14 at the Armour Street Theatre in Davidson.

Fourth annual health and wellness fair will have more than 30 vendors with products and information. The Community Blood Center of the Carolinas will host a blood drive. 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Birkdale Village in Huntersville.

Davidson Community Players is seeking youth and adult actors for its production of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” which will run Nov. 29-Dec. 16. Auditions will be held 5-8 p.m. Oct. 7 and 7-10 p.m. Oct. 8 at the DCP Actor’s Lab in Cornelius.

Iredell County beekeeper David Little will provide everything you need to know about bees and beekeeping. 7 p.m. at the Mooresville Public Library.
Friday, Oct. 12
A potion of every purchase will go to the Stand Firm Warrior Foundation to fight childhood cancer. 10:30 a.m.-10:30 p.m. at City Barbeque in Huntersville.
The Goodnight Brothers Band and Shades of Brown headline an evening of music, food trucks, craft brews, local artists, kids’ activities, more. 6-10 p.m. at Oak Street Mill in Cornelius.
