A “critical community conversation” will be held 10 am to noon this Saturday at the Ada Jenkins Center Cafeteria. The gathering comes out of the violence in Charlottesville this past summer, as well as the vandalism at the Confederate Monument on Zion Avenue. Organized by Rev. Joel Simpson, assistant pastor at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, the group discussion will help introduce diverse small group meetings that will take place in Cornelius and Davidson.
The conversations about the difficult race issues facing our country will help increase our understanding of each other’s views about race, Simpson said, as well as build and strengthen relationships across races. More info: Jsimpson@mtzionumc.net or call 704-892-8566
