James William Jackson was born in Haw River, NC on April 14, 1930 and lived in Cornelius, NC. He passed away peacefully on July 3, 2017 at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville. He served as a Marine in the Korean War and was a Purple Heart Recipient. He was a bus driver for Trail Ways and Carolina Charter and was a member of the American Legion. He loved his family dearly and his passion was to travel throughout the United States.
Mr. Jackson was pre-deceased by his wife Glendora Bowman Jackson; his parents James and Connie Jackson; His son Mark Dwaine Jackson; One Brother Dallas Jackson; and his sister Rebecca Jackson.
Mr. Jackson is survived by his daughter Berinda “Rindy” Jackson of Cornelius, NC; Brother George Jackson of Greensboro, NC and his beloved Dog Durango.
A memorial service will be held at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Cornelius, NC on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 2:30 pm with visitation hours set from 2:00-2:30pm.
