Consignment shops land chamber small biz honors

May 5. Consign On A Dime is the new Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce as Small Business of the Year. Tamara Mullis and Sandra Getts own the business on West Catawba, not far from Jetton Road.

The store was established during the recession in 2010 and has grown from two employees to twelve. Consign On A Dime relocated from its original location in 2011 to a much larger space and this past year opened a second location called Showplace 28 Fine Furniture located at Shops on the Green.

Mullis and Getts have continued to evolve their business as the market and customer needs change.

In addition to the recognition of Consign on a Dime, the chamber also recognized several other finalists: Edible Arrangements and Omega Learning Center, both in Huntersville, and My Aloha Paddle & Surf in Cornelius.  Each of the finalists were recognized for their growth in employees and revenues; outstanding community involvement; and their innovative management and marketing practices.
