June 24. Cornelius Early Scholars, a nonprofit scholarship Christian preschool, announced two new members including the parent of one of the school’s inaugural graduates.
The new board members are Tynsley Lockhart-Williams, a Cornelius resident with a background in ministry and community service, and Bob Menzel, who helped mobilize the community around the lyngbya algae problem in Lake Norman.

Tynsley is the mother of one of Cornelius Early Scholar’s inaugural graduates.
“As we are approaching our second school year, I believe Bob will bring additional executive leadership and business skills to the board, while Tynsley will bring a first-hand parental perspective that will help us to better engage the students’ entire family,” said Rev. David Judge, chairman of Cornelius Early Scholars.
The pre-school meets at First Baptist Church of Cornelius where Judge is the pastor.
