CANIPE

Wendell Eugene Canipe, 77, of Charlotte, NC, passed away Saturday November 14, 2015.  Wendell was born April 4, 1938 in Charlotte, to the late Laurie Eugene Canipe and Evah Honeycutt Canipe.  He retired as a Captain for the Mecklenburg County Police Department and went on to become a U.S. Marshall at the U.S. Federal Courthouse, for 13 years in Charlotte.  Wendell was a member of the Mason’s and enjoyed playing golf and spending time at the beach.

Wendell is survived by his sister Lois Gantz of Matthews, NC; nephew, Brian Gantz (Roxanne) of Matthews, NC; great-nephews, Brandon and Jacob Gantz.

A visitation will be held on Thursday November 19, 2015 from 12:30 – 2:00 pm at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park, Charlotte.
