Upcoming Events: June 15 – 25

The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra will present its annual Symphony Under the Stars this Friday at the EnergyExplorium in Huntersville. The concert will feature stirring works by Mozart and Tchaikovsky as well as popular favorites from “My Fair Lady” and “Rocky.” Pack a picnic dinner and arrive early for a good spot to enjoy the free concert.

 

Thursday, June 15
Learn the back stories of Peter, Tinkerbell and Captain Hook in this Community School of Davidson Summerstock production. June 14-18 at the CSD ArtSpace in Davidson.
Learn basic Spanish through literacy-based activities. Rising K-2 grades. Registration required. 2-3 p.m. at the Cornelius Branch Library.
See Disney Pixar’s “Cars 3” before it arrives in theaters. Proceeds go to the IGNITE program of the Autism Society of North Carolina. 7 p.m. at Our Town Cinemas in Davidson.
Free live weekly concerts all spring and summer! 5-9 p.m. at LangTree Lake Norman in Mooresville.
Baby blankets, clothing, wipes, diapers and other baby items will be collected and packaged for families of soldiers at Fort Bragg. Dinner served to volunteers. 6-7:30 p.m. at Cornelius Town Hall.
Friday, June 16
Zac Gordon, Kannapolis planning director and newly-elected NC 73 COP chair, will join Charles Knox with the Knox Group as they discuss development and plans along the NC 73 Corridor and the work of the Council of Planning. 8:30 a.m. at the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce in Cornelius.
Before you see “Cars 3” in theaters, see the film that started it all 11 years ago. Snacks provided. 2-4 p.m. at the Cornelius Branch Library.
Mingling on the Greens series is held 7-9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 4-6 p.m. Sundays at Birkdale Village in Huntersville.

Organized Chaos is hosting a race to help stamp out polio and help the homeless in Mooresville. Event includes vendors and food trucks. 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at All Seasons Marina in Mooresville.
Join us as 15 of Charlotte’s best food trucks battle for your vote. Enjoy local breweries, street vendors, kids’ activities and more. Noon-8 p.m. at Oak Street Mill in Cornelius.
Sunday, June 18

Sustainability Salon
