This Saturday morning is a great local tradition, the North Meck Rotary Pancake Breakfast, complete with sausage, auction items and plenty of socializing. It’s a fundraiser, so bring money. 7 am to noon at Bethel Presbyterian Church.

Historic Preservation Committee
6 p.m. at Cornelius Town Hall.
North Meck Alliance
Officials from Huntersville, Cornelius and Davidson discuss regionalism, communication among lake towns and transportation projects. Open to the public. 5:30 p.m. at Cornelius Town Hall.
Wildlife Program
The Lake Norman Wildlife Conservationists invite you to hear Allison Woods Outdoor Learning Center’s Paige Jackson discuss “Life Under Lake Waters.” 7 p.m. at the Mooresville Public Library.
Art Exhibit
Through large-scale watercolor paintings and sculpture, Jen Ray’s “Surrounded by Wolves” explores female rebellion and the shifting nature of a woman’s identity. An opening reception and performance will be held at 7 p.m. at the Van Every Gallery at Davidson College. The exhibit is open through March 3.
Art Exhibition
Annual winter juried art exhibition will be open through March 1 at the Mooresville Arts Gallery.
Preschool Registration
Mooresville’s St. Patrick’s Preschool is now accepting registrations for the 2018-2019 school year. Options for 5-day, 3-day and 2-day programs are available for children ages 2-4. The fall program begins Sept. 4.

Spanish Conversation Group

Dramatic Performance
Michael Conner, grandson of John Conner, will perform his self-directed “The Foreshadowing of a People: Reflections from the Past.”6 p.m. Feb. 9-10 and 2 and 7 p.m. Feb. 11 at Old Town Public House in Cornelius.
Home Grown Exhibition

Saturday, Feb. 10
Rotary Pancake Breakfast
The North Meck Rotary Pancake Breakfast runs 7 am to noon at Bethel Presbyterian Church. Have fun, meet friends and browse awesome auction items with members of one of the oldest service clubs in North Mecklenburg. It’s all for a good cause. Proceeds from the event will benefit Cornelius Parks & Recreation Improvement and other North Mecklenburg projects. Tickets are $10 and are available at the door.
Hike Cornelius
Leisurely two-mile hike through Robbins Park trail system. Lake Norman Wildlife Conservationists will provide information about natural features. No strollers or pets, please. 10 a.m.-noon at Robbins Park in Cornelius.
Valentine’s Art Party
All ages are welcome at the annual free “heART pARTy” with card making, crafts and refreshments. 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the Cornelius Arts Center.
Fairy House Festival
Games, crafts, storytelling, food trucks, more. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Latta Plantation Nature Center in Huntersville.
Musical Theatre Workshop
Learn to choose audition material that highlights your strengths and helps you to stand out in front of the audition panel. Ages 8 and up. Hosted by Davidson Community Players. 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Actor’s Lab in Cornelius. An optional headshot mini-session follows the workshop.

Hope House Fundraiser
Enjoy food, dancing and raffles. Proceeds support Hope House, which provides transitional housing and support services to homeless women and children in the Lake Norman area. 6-11 p.m. at NorthStone Country Club in Huntersville.

Mission Trip Meeting
An interest meeting will be held to discuss opportunities to share Christ’s love and help the people of Haiti. The trip is scheduled for June 9-16. The interest meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the parlor of Bethel Presbyterian Church in Cornelius.

Romare Bearden Exhibit
As part of our Black History Month celebration, Cornelius will exhibit seven amazing works by the late Romare Bearden, on loan from the Jerald Melberg Gallery of Charlotte. Feb. 12-28 at Cornelius Town Hall.
Make A Valentine
Come hear Valentine’s Day stories, create blackout poetry and make your own Valentine. Ages 5-11. 6-7 p.m. at the Cornelius Branch Library.
Organ Concert
