The Cornelius Black History Month program is this Saturday at Town Hall. The annual program focuses on the history of families in the Smithville community. This year, the story will revolve around three historically black churches: Torrence Chapel AME Zion, Hunters Chapel United Methodist and Union Bethel AME Zion. The program will celebrate the rich heritage of this community with music, history, spoken word, liturgical dance and memorabilia. Cornelius PARC Department’s summer camp registration opens at 7 a.m. March 1. Spots fill up quickly, so mark your calendars.
